Developing low-pressure casting technology for making seat pillows from pre-foamed non-combustible silicone foam.

The objective of this project is to develop a technology which would enable making upholstering materials from fire-resistant silicone foam by low pressure casting in an industrial and scalable way. The technology must include mutually compatible processes, the concepts for the equipment suitable for production and also materials compatible with the processes and equipment. As the processes and equipment known from the polyurethane foam technology is not directly usable with silicone foams, concepts for new equipment must be created, their prototypes made, processes tested and optimized.
